The leadership of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Western Zone, on Monday paid a courtesy and solidarity visit to His Royal Majesty, Eseimokumo Ogonikara I, the Agadagba and Pere of Tubutoru Kingdom, following his recent presentation with the Staff of Office by the Ondo State Government.
The visit took place at the royal palace in Taribor Town, the traditional headquarters of the kingdom. The delegation congratulated the monarch on his recognition and reaffirmed the support of the Ijaw people under the Ijaw National Congress.
The INC Western Zone described the presentation of the Staff of Office as a historic achievement for Tubutoru Kingdom and the wider Ijaw nation in Ondo State and beyond.
During the visit, the delegation thanked the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, for approving and facilitating the presentation. They described the action as a mark of inclusive governance and respect for traditional institutions. Appreciation was also extended to Ijaw leaders, elders, and stakeholders whose efforts made the recognition possible.
The delegation was led by Barrister Priye Noel Kuete, LL.M, Chairman of the INC Western Zone, which covers Delta, Edo, and Ondo States. He said the recognition would strengthen traditional leadership, promote peace, and support socio-cultural development across Ijaw communities in the zone.
Responding, His Royal Majesty expressed gratitude to the INC leadership for the visit and described it as a sign of unity among the Ijaw people. He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, development, cultural preservation, and cooperation with the Ondo State Government.
The visit ended with prayers, goodwill messages, and renewed calls for unity, as well as continued collaboration with government authorities, other ethnic groups in Ondo State, and key stakeholders to advance the development of the Ijaw nation.
