Stakeholder advocates effective use of capacity building in public sector

Dr. Bare Gbe, member representing Delta South senatorial district on the state Board of Internal Revenue has advocated an effective capacity building and utilization in the public sector to achieve governmental goals.

Gbe said that capacity training/capacity utilization in the private sector outshines the public in Nigeria because of its emphasis in the effective utilization services rendered, nothing that the later was not cautiously manage in public sector.

Speaking in Warri, Delta State, he noted that since the public sector was all about service delivery, there was need to improve on those area for effective management of resources, adding that private and public sectors have relationship as they are both agents of growth, creation of employment and catapults infrastructural development in the society.

He said that if the work culture in private sector was imbibed in the public sector, it would bring a lot of change in public service which would further translate in the advancement of the society.

Gbe, the ‘Ogba of Enhwe kingdom’ in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, noted that he brought his experiences in the private sector to bear in the public sector, with a mission to ensure that tax administration was properly carried out.

Gbe said that the Internally Generated Revenue of the state has tremendously improved by ensuring that companies operating in remote part of his Delta South senatorial district were fully mobilized to pay taxes.

The tax administrator also called for the setting Up of Joint State and Local Government Tax Board that will be saddled with the responsibility of tax education to both urban and rural dwellers.
