NATIONAL Directorate of Employment, NDE, yesterday in Lagos, said the robustness of the rural economy holds the key to a vibrant national economy that will lead to prices of goods and services reducing, inflation decreasing and creating mass employment.
Director-General of NDE, Dr. Nasir Ladan, at the opening ceremony of a basic business training, BBT, for some informal sector operators, taking place simultaneously in 12 states of the Federation with the support of United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, and the National Assembly, said this would ultimately arrest anti-social vices.
Represented by Lagos State Co-ordinator of NDC, Mr. Ologbenla Adebowale, Dr. Ladan explained that BBT was designed to train artisans, and school leavers on the rudimentary aspects of business management skills, noting that it was discovered that despite being highly skilled in their chosen vocations, most micro-enterprises failed due to lack of basic business management skills.
