ABUJA—THE governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Ogun State 2015 gubernatorial election, Mr Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, GNI, has dumped Senator Buruji Kashamu’s camp of the party in the state.
In a letter to the National Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Isiaka while congratulating the committee for the successful non- elective national convention where the tenure was extended by four months, also hailed the decision of the National leadership of the party to dissolve the Executive Committees of seven contentious states including Ogun.
In the letter dated 13th August and obtained by Vanguard, Isiaka decried the protracted legal tussle over party structure between warring factions in the state, noting that this has ensured that the party has not recorded electoral victories in the last two general elections.
Isiaka said: “Whereas there are court cases that have been instituted due to the acrimony and battle for control, the ideal thing is to have political solutions that consider the interest of everyone in order to foster unity.”
“Notwithstanding such existing cases, the decision of the National Convention to dissolve the competing executives is a fair starting point and also proposes a route out of the impending conundrum”
