THE national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is being put to task over an alleged plot to compromise the forthcoming primaries of the party. Central to the alleged plot, it is claimed, is the lobbying of a high profile aspirant in the party who sources claim has been lobbying the national leadership of the party to alter the delegates’ list with the aim of putting his stooges into the list of delegates which emerged from the 2014 congresses of the party.
One source privy to the alleged plot alleged that the aspirant has been working behind the scene to manipulate the delegates’ list but had met a brick wall as the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has insisted on using the original delegates’ list.
A second option by those aiming to rig the primaries it was gathered, is the plot to forge identification papers of the delegates with the aim of using the so forged identity papers to vote for the aspirant. The delegates to the APC governorship congress consists essentially of the ward, local government and state executives of the party and national officers from the state.
